Dear Younger Me,

You are empathetic, but remember that empathy without actions is useless. It does nobody any good. Begin to look for ways to express your empathy, and you will begin to find your place in this world. Find somebody’s world to change, and you will have found that you are beginning to come alive.
Sadness happens, but purpose can be born of grief, if you let it. A life filled with purpose can change the world. Allow your empathy to find your purpose, and then you will make a difference.

This particular “Dear Younger Me” means a lot to me. I wrote this to myself days before knowing I was going to unexpectedly and surprisingly go on a journey to adopt my son.
