Discovering Identity

So many times, we cling to the belief that we must be “good” to have value.

I wish I would have learned early in my walk with God that my value isn’t based on my goodness. I’m created by the Author of Life.

That alone establishes my value.

I’m priceless to Him. I am loved. I am a DAUGHTER OF THE KING.

I’ll say it a million times over: Discover your value to God, and you’ll have discovered your identity.

But, I will say, it’s a journey REALIZING who we are. We Christians know “all the right things” in our heads.

But does our heart and soul know it? That’s a different story! That’s why we struggle so much wondering if God hears our prayers. If God cares. If He sees our pain.

We often fail to understand with our hearts the depth that His love runs. Or the “priceless” stamp He’s place on us. In essence, we don’t understand our identity.

I’m learning the closer I come to finding out how valuable I am to Him (whether good, bad, or ugly), the struggle of wondering “if God sees me” becomes less and less.

Have you ever had someone in your life that just made you feel “seen”? It changed something for you, didn’t it?

Being valuable to God is the ultimate realization that nobody cares MORE about what is going on inside than He does! It changes something on the inside. And I can become more of myself when I feel seen and heard.

If you are wondering if God is listening, I encourage you to ask God to show you who you are to Him. Ask Him to show you your value. Let His love become your center, and watch your world begin to change.

And the best part: you will find yourself becoming everything you were created to be.
